today has been a lost day
lots of stuff has been going on, but i have no motivation to write about it.
if i ever get around to it, i want to talk about
+picking out our ketubah
+finally deciding (and ordering!) bridesmaid dresses
-suit shopping
+fun vegas style party
-more invitation indecision (which I'm sure you are all glad you don't have to read about)
+the start of searching for hair and make-up people
hope everyone else is feeling more motivated than I am!

New Feature!
I've added a new feature to my blog! A question box! I'll admit it is highly reminiscent of my 7th grade sex education class, but I thought it would be fun anyway. Here is how it works - you can submit a question to me and I'll answer it! So go ahead - test it out! You know you want to.
p.s. it's anonymous!

The Rest of It
So I feel like I kind of left things off at a weird spot yesterday. If you've read my blog before, you know that we ended up keeping in touch because now we are getting married! Yep. After two years of doing the long-distance thing, I graduated college, moved back to Chicago and in with Neill, and we have been living together now for about two and half years. Thankfully those two years weren't all long-distance - I was always back in Chicago for winter and summer break. But, damn. I shudder to think about going back to ld. it just sucks either way you look at it. that being said, i think a strong couple can make it through. for obvious reasons, i don't see it as the death sentence some do.
Anyhoo, I thought I'd share some more pictures from the past with you! These go from the end of september to the very beginning of december. i have pictures from the holidays and new years, but no good one's of us together. boo. The picture where i look slightly annoyed is from Thanksgiving at my house and the last one is for our three month "anniversary" (don't hate) at the beginning of december.
Anyways I could post pictures of neill and i till the cows come home, but i think this will be it for a while.
Actually, I'll leave you with one last picture! Neill got me a beautiful necklace for valentine's day this year. Check it out!
It's a citrine pendant (his birthstone) from Tiffany & Co. I may have given him a few hints, but he did an awesome job picking it out!

First Date
Yesterday, I happened upon some old pictures that I had saved in some random folder on my computer. It was so fun to take a trip down memory lane and see tons of pictures from when Neill and I first started dating. I thought I'd share some with you!
For our first date, I took a cab to his apartment from work and we ordered in Chinese food :) It was a bit of an awkward decision because I was under age (19 years old!) and he . . .well he wasn't (26 years old!). When he originally asked me out it didn't occur to him that I was so young - just like it didn't occur to me that he was so old! We talked about doing BYOB, but somehow decided it would just be easier to order in. Looking back now, I guess it wasn't a particularly fancy date or anything like that, but it was just our style.
That's me on Neill's Couch on September 1, 2005 - our first date!

Neill and me date number two - September 4th, 2005
For our second date a few days later, we went to lunch at The Golden Apple, a diner, and then spent time hanging out at a nearby park. And that was that! Later that afternoon I returned to Knox College in Galesburg, IL - a three and a half hour drive from Chicago. I knew I liked him, but I don't think either of us were sure if we would keep in touch or what would happen.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!
I'm so excited valentine's day is here! I've been looking forward to today all month! We get to go out to a yummy yummy french restaurant, i get to give neill his gift that i hope hope hope he loves, and I get my new valentine's day song! I'm usually not so v day crazed, but I think this year feels extra special since it is our last valentine's day before we get married! (of course, I could say that about a lot of things . . . but whatever)
I don't care whether you are single or not - I know everyone has SOMEONE to love. So tell them!

results are in!
finally, the poll is over! thank you to the 26 of you that were kind enough to vote. I wish I could tell you how many people total visited the blog within this week so I could report some sort of response rate. Looking at my googly analytics, I know it was more than 26 but it is hard to know exactly! Each time I posted it on facebook about 30 people clicked over to the blog on top of the general 10 to 15 that I have everyday. What it doesn't tell me though is if those people were new visitors or maybe people who have already voted.
Anyways, i was going to be all psychology nerd and do a chi square to analyze the results but it is 8:30 in the morning and I just am not feeling that right now. So here are the results:
Urbanity - 50% of the votes (13)
Swirls - 26% of the votes (7)
Find something else - 23% of the votes (6).
Without doing the statistics, i'll say that significantly more people voted for the urbanity invitations than swirls or other. Of those that didn't favor urbanity, about half liked Neill's swirly invitation and half thought we should find something else.
thank you again to everyone that voted! It was really fun to do a poll so I plan on doing more of them in the future.

invitations
ok people, i need your help.
we need to figure out our invitations - and soon. i have real work i need to be doing and i just can't stop trolling for wedding invitations. These here, urbanity by bella figura, are the ones i'm leaning towards. It would look just like this - but smaller.
what are your thoughts? i'm going to try and set up a poll on the blog so you can vote anonymously!

Neill is crushing on these swirly spinning lovelies, also from bella figura.

chocolate coma
the other day, i dug out an unopened bag of hershey's kisses from our tea/coffee/chocolate shelf that were left over from christmas. Yay for me for having the self-control to leave them be for so long! Boo for me for making the mistake of opening them. tsk tsk tsk.
today, i planned to bring them to loyola to leave in the main office for others to munch on. and i even got so far as to put them in my bag and bring them to campus. but, then i forgot about them. until i got home, that is. because then i had like 12 of them. and they were de-licious. but now my stomach hurts and i'm not hungry for dinner :(
chocolate is truly my weakness.

i heart my hubby to be
i've got the best hubby to be! not only did he bring home sushi last night, but today he designed and priced out our gift bags for our out-of-town wedding guests, did the grocery shopping, AND changed my closet light bulb. swoon.
